One of the most amazing parts of the barracks is down by the lake. It changes character completely between the seasons, but also year to year. The alders and the aspens and the willows I planted four years ago becoming stronger, and transforming the place from a squidgy swamp growing nothing but horsetail to an abundant wild space of native flowering plants, insects and butterflies. Which are insects. From the way the grass is lying, it looks like a family of deer have been resting here as well.
Amazing work Ben.
So exciting
Nice, sounds peaceful at the lake.
I'm digging the wheat-drying room - I can't wait to see how you use all of that wheat.
I think the lake needs a beaver family!
